Jessica focuses on the protection and management of intellectual property, and related litigation and appeals.
Jessica advises clients, many in the design and fashion industries, in disputes involving trademark, copyright, unfair competition, false advertising, general business, and internet law. She assists in the selection and protection of trademarks and advises on marketing, advertising and branding issues. She represents clients in disputes involving counterfeit goods and negotiates royalty and license agreements for various types of intellectual property. Jessica has experience with Trademark Trial and Appeal Board opposition and cancellation proceedings, and filings with the United States Customs Office, Intellectual Property Branch.
Jessica represents clients in United States District Courts around the country and has been a primary writer of briefs submitted to several United States Courts of Appeals, in areas including intellectual property (trademark, copyright and patent infringement), unfair competition, false advertising, and constitutional law.
Jessica has a business background working in sales and marketing of consumer packaged goods. She is a founder of Zevia, the Los Angeles based beverage company that manufactures and sells zero-calorie soft drinks, sparkling water, energy drinks and mixers sweetened with stevia. She was a principal and strategic manager of the company. She led branding and product development and raised capital for the company which eventually sold to a private equity firm.
In law school, Jessica was a judicial extern to the Honorable Consuelo Marshall, United States District Judge of the District Court for the Central District of California.
