Newman LLP attorneys Derek Newman, Jason Sykes, and Jessica Newman won an order from a Delaware federal court to take the deposition of Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s CEO. The so-called “Apex Doctrine” usually protects the CEO of a big company from having to sit for a deposition. Newman LLP attorneys Derek Newman and Jason Sykes won a permanent injunction preventing use of an infringing domain name. WestCoastCorvettes.com hired Newman LLP to get the domain name from an infringing user. After the initial preliminary injunction was one, the firm won the case, without trial, on summary judgment. In another successful patent case, Newman | LLP attorneys Derek Newman and Keith Scully together with a joint-defense team convinced a California federal judge to declare as invalid a patent for the use of D-aspartic acid (DAA) in dietary supplements. The ruling allows Muscle Warfare, Inc., Newman LLP’s client, to continue manufacturing and marketing products containing DAA.
