Sergio Becerra

Sergio represents inventors and companies before the United States Patent Office and in patent litigation. He prosecutes patents covering a wide variety of technologies, with a special emphasis on software. Sergio has assisted foreign companies in obtaining U.S. patents. His experience also includes business litigation, trademark registration, and advising clients about various areas of intellectual property.

Sergio published an article in The Pepperdine Journal of Business, Entrepreneurship and the Law, addressing the impact that artificial intelligence has on the practice of law. He also coauthored, with Derek Newman, a chapter of the book Evidence in Patent Cases, published by Bloomberg Law and the American Intellectual Property Law Association. Sergio is fluent in Spanish.
